16 quick and easy tasks that'll improve your life

Like most people, I don’t think I’ve ever really stuck to a new year’s resolution. I also don’t think I’ve ever really achieved goals that I set in January. Generally, throughout the year, I’ll stick to resolutions and work toward goals for about a month tops before I give up or forget about them.

So, I try to make the whole thing a bit more palatable. Tiny, practical steps that can be accomplished in (generally) less than one day. Sometimes even less than one hour.

So instead of trying to make some grand resolution or even in addition to doing that… here are some quick and easy things to do that’ll improve your life.

A busy girl's guide to a self-care routine / ew & pt

Not gonna lie — the term “self-care” used to make me cringe a bit. To me, it has the flavor of “Treat yo self!” which also, as much as I love Parks & Rec, makes me cringe. They make it seem like you shouldn’t always be caring about yourself and it frames “treating yourself” as a big to-do instead of.. .just being able to occasionally buy things that bring you joy.

That being said, I struggle with both. My self-care routine generally consists of remembering to take off my makeup before bed, snuggling up with my cats on a pile of fuzzy blankets and taking a 10-minute shower after work. 6 tips for dealing with uncertainty

Tips for dealing with uncertainty - how to deal with uncertainty / ew & pt

hate uncertainty.

Funny enough, I enjoy surprises. But, surprises make me anxious. And that’s a special exception when it comes to uncertainty.

If there’s a plan, I want to know where it is, what time it’s at and who’s going to be there. If I plan a trip, I need color-coded spreadsheets and itineraries. Specific dates and times are everything,

I’m a bit type A in the sense that I love having a plan, following the plan, and being done with it. That being said, I can appreciate spontaneity  — but nine times out of 10, I’m going to choose structure. I am someone who craves stability and certainty.

In life, especially post-grad life, so much is uncertain! Jobs, living situations, finances, and even where you could be in a month are somewhat up in the air.

Needless to say, I haven’t been handling it incredibly well.

But, I have discovered some strategies that are gradually helping me deal with uncertainty Here are some tips for dealing with uncertainty without losing your mind.
