29 things no one ever told you about being in your 20s

things no one ever told you about being in your 20s

I know it’s best to blog what you know buuut I don’t know much these days. I have two cats, a job I like, a few close friends, and uncertain future plans! Also, my blog turned four years old today but I’m more sad about it than happy.

When I started this I was a sophomore in college and this blog was everything to me. I grew it and it peaked when I was a junior in college until it sort of plateaued where it is now. I can’t even say I’m working on changing that. Admittedly, I’m waiting for the next phase of my life (moving out??) to eventually happen and hopefully spark some inspiration and blogging energy.

Anywho. Writing about what I know! Well, I’m in my 20s (barely, I’m 22) and I’ve noticed a few fun and not-so-fun things no one ever told me about this phase of life. So yeah! Here are things no one ever told you about being in your 20s from someone who is literally 22. Maybe they’ll be of use to you.

11 of the best ways I save money post-grad

best ways i save money post-grad

I love a great deal, I love saving money, and I love being able to do these things while still having a ~fruitful life~.

For context, I got a paid internship just out of college and it later turned into my first full-time job. I commute to and from NYC and I’ve been working on saving a lot of my paycheck while still reaping the benefits of living at home for just a bit longer as I figure out my next move. So, of course, not paying rent is a huge money-saver that I’m fortunate to be able to do. That being said, there are a lot of other ways I save money.

Here is how I save money post-grad that might just inspire you to create some new habits.

How to find things to do in your city + my NYC “to explore” list

how to find things to do in your city and things to do in new york // ew & pt

Lately, I’ve been using my free time to research places to eat, areas to explore, and walls to take a good Instagram in front of. As it turns out, this feels way more productive than scrolling through Instagram and Twitter … plus, it also helps make me feel even more excited for the nice weather.

There are so many things I want to do! And they’re more or less ~accessible~ because they’re in my city/state! They’re located in New York, just like me. Bucket lists are cool, but “to explore” lists are even greater, especially when you can make them realistic and reachable.

Here’s how to make a list of places and things to explore and do in your city … and here’s a peek into my list of things to do in New York for some inspo! Read More →

The 4 lists everyone should make

120

It’s been a hot minute! I had a half-written post but I spent three days opening and closing it so, uh, I’m putting that aside for now. February was a pretty garbage month. I spent most of it being extremely stressed, sort of lost, and just generally UGH. By the time the last week of the month hit, my friend and I had a daily countdown until the shortest, worst month of the year was over.

For such a short month, it was largely crappy. A lot of things were thrown my way. At one point I even cried in Union SquParkpark (and saw a rat but was too busy crying to care, and the rat was actually cute? But maybe it’s because I was crying). I sent CAPS LOCK TEXT MESSAGES to a bunch of friends. I didn’t do a lot of things I’d planned to do. I have about 4 unfinished to-do lists shoved in my room somewhere right now.

But, you know, it’s March now.  And last month made me sort of think about what things can help me get out of a bad mood. And about the things put me in a bad mood and why they’re able to do that. I thought about what can I actually control and why exactly I spend a lot of time stressing about that I can’t do anything about…

So I made four lists on a whim and they made me feel better. And they were surprisingly easy to make Here some lists to make (and the ones I made) and why they might just help you feel a bit better and a bit more sane.
