Valentine’s Day MOTD & Galentine’s Day Party

Happy Valentine’s Day to those who hate it and those who love it and those who love to hate it. Personally, I’m indifferent about the day but I do love the omnipresent reds, pinks and heart prints. Is anything cuter than red, pink and hearts? I also love a good excuse to play with makeup and draw a heart on my cheek a la Marina & the Diamonds.

So here’s time for a Valentine’s Day MOTD and a few Galentine’s Day ideas for you and your crew.

You also can’t forget about the little details. Hell yeah I did some red and white polka dot nails. I also wore my standard go-to of black with white polka dots. Clearly I have a thing for polka dots.

Since my boyfriend is over four hours away this V-Day, I’ll be spending it with my favorite friends. I’ll be following some of these best friend date ideas and adapting them for an entire crew.

A Fun Valentine’s Day MOTD called for some photos in my kitchen, of course. Bless my roommate’s heart for always humoring me and being my photographer. I threw in some fun props, which are foam hearts from the Target dollar bin that we wrote cute and sassy phrases on.

Pink and red shouldn’t work on the eyes, but it totally does. I was going to ombre my lips, but I fail at lip art and anything lip-related. I ended up mixing together five colors to get this weird color. I then added some glitter on top, which you can’t see, but I can feel it and taste it. Yum. This reminds me of the Greek goddess makeup challenge where I attempted some Aphrodite makeup. Slightly cringe-worthy throwback.

For Galentine’s Day, we’re going to have cake, Shirley Temples (my FAVORITE sugary beverage) and pink chocolate chip cookies. I love adding food coloring to food. I made my favorite homemade chocolate chip cookies and then added food coloring in order to really Valentine it up. They came out more coral than pink, but they’re still tasty and festive.

Also, how adorable is that heart print mug from Target? I’m in love with cute coffee mugs, especially heart print ones.

Also, you know what’s freaking cool about photo editing and people holding things? You can edit whatever you want onto thing. You can make a sassy phrase into self-promotion for Instagram *wink wink*.
