Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge: Aphrodite Makeup

Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge: Aphrodite Makeup // eyeliner wings & pretty things

This is part of a Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge and this week’s theme was Aphrodite. I used a lot of pinks and reds and did a fun heart filled/glitter filled drip sort of pattern on my cheek. Read more to see more photos and details of the look!

I kept my face very porcelain-like and simple. I used blush to contour in order to maintain my pink and red sort of theme. You can barely see it in the photos but I had to blend it SO MUCH. Ugh. This look, obviously, is more avant garde. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty, so I guess I played mostly on the love aspect. This look is very Valentine’s Day-y.

I mostly used the Coastal Scents 252 shade palette as usual, which I mention in almost every makeup post.  I’m just absolutely obsessed with the pigmentation and color variety! I almost did this look with a black lip and stitched mouth for a twisted Aphrodite feel but then I realized I was not feeling it, so I started the bottom half of my face from scratch.

The lips are definitely lackluster and boring, but I wanted to focus on my eyes and the drippy pattern, ya feel me? So, that was my Aphrodite makeup! Here are the products I used.

  1. Very cool! I’ve been meaning to get my hands on one of those giant Coastal Scents palettes. There are just so many colors I don’t have, that I don’t want to spend a lot of money for, but would like access to at least once in awhile! Great job, Paige!

    • Thank you, Sammi! That palette is absolutely my favorite purchase I’ve made in a while, I definitely recommend getting it…it goes on sale often! 🙂

  2. I love this look! I love how romantic it all looks and feels because of the pink and red theme. The drippy pattern on the cheek is so cool, and I like the sound of a twisted Aphrodite! haha 🙂 Amazing!

    Love this look Paige,

It’s so creative! I’ve never seen such a creative yet wearable look at the same time. I don’t know how you managed to pull off the all pink look and still look so put together. I love that you took your inspo from the Greek goddess Aphrodite. It’s a cool change from going with the stereotype or historically accurate makeup worn by women during the Ancient Greek era. In case you’re interested in learning about the documented history of makeup during this time period, we recently published a post exploring the research here:

Thanks again for sharing this gorgeous pink look – you’re right that it’s very Valentine’s day-esque,

    Laura.
