A busy girl's guide to a self-care routine / ew & pt

Not gonna lie — the term “self-care” used to make me cringe a bit. To me, it has the flavor of “Treat yo self!” which also, as much as I love Parks & Rec, makes me cringe. They make it seem like you shouldn’t always be caring about yourself and it frames “treating yourself” as a big to-do instead of.. .just being able to occasionally buy things that bring you joy.

That being said, I struggle with both. My self-care routine generally consists of remembering to take off my makeup before bed, snuggling up with my cats on a pile of fuzzy blankets and taking a 10-minute shower after work. Also, when you’re booking something major or a reservation or tickets that cannot be changed, tell the person to block off the date (and make sure they’re free) before purchasing whatever it is! Major tip.  Read More →

How to Save Money When Buying Gifts

love gift giving and I especially love doing it without spending a bunch of money. There are a lot of ways to save money on gifts without skimping on the gift itself and I often take advantage of these. In fact, I usually start my Christmas shopping in October so I have plenty of time to hunt down the perfect present and get it at a great price. It also minimizes stress levels in December where I’ve already got my birthday, my final exams, final projects and other holiday-related things to worry about.

When it comes to gift giving it’s certainly not about what you pay for it…but paying less than you need to could never hurt. Here are some ways to save money on gifts this holiday season!
