Pretty little thing haul and summer update

Oh, hello! Happy (sort of) mid-point of 2019. It’s bit quite a year so far! There’s about one month left of summer and it feels like June and July flew by. This month has been a true whirlwind filled with new discoveries, new responsibilities, and some new wardrobe items!

This month, I stepped up at work

I won’t go into too much detail but a few major changes happened at work and I’m now taking on a lot more responsibilities and I have a bit of room to sort of grow and take on a lot of new projects. It’s been … stressful but also really exciting. As an ESTJ, I love an opportunity to be in charge and whip something into shape, as you can imagine. For August, I’m going to work really hard to stay focused, stay organized, and maintain a work-life balance!

I found new places to shop & added to my closet

Lately, I’ve been trying to find new places to shop to try to get out of my shopping rut and I’ve mostly been turning to the internet because working long hours means I don’t have much time to hit up the mall during the week.

One of the new places I’ve enjoyed shopping at is Pretty Little Thing because they have so many options (I could scroll on their site for hours) and there’s always some sort of sale happening. It’s kind of lucky they reached out to me to work together especially because I’d been planning on ordering from them anyway!

This tiered dress is super easy to dress up or dress down and it hits right at my ankle, which is perfect because I usually can’t wear a dress this long without also wearing heels or wedges. I also like how this necklace set is pre-layered and attached together so I don’t have to worry about properly stacking jewelry … something I’m very bad at.

PRETTY LITTLE THING/ EMERALD GREEN FLORAL PLEATED MIDI DRESS

Lately, I’ve really been liking midi dresses because they’re appropriate enough to wear to work, fun enough to wear during a new adventure, and easy to comfortably wear shorts under. I love the evergreen color of this dress and the colorful floral print.

Also, I’m obsessed with these shoes. First of all, white sneakers are my favorite, go-to summer shoe to wear for any occasion, whether I’m going to work or hanging out with friends. Second of all, the zipper detailing on these are too cute. Third of all, the material is pleather-y meaning they’re easy to wipe clean (my white canvas shoes are shuddering). Oh, and finally, they have a tiny platform! I love the added height.

PRETTY LITTLE THING/ LIGHT PINK DISTRESSED DENIM JACKET

Lastly, anyone who knows me IRL knows I’ve been on the prowl for a lilac or pink denim jacket and they can blessedly stop listening to me talk about it because ta-daaa! This is such a vibrant, colorful and cozy little number. It has a good stretch and easy-to-cuff sleeves. Plus, it feels like it’s made of a durable, light denim sort of material.

I also made sure to do some fun stuff with friends

Earlier this month I went ax-throwing with friends and I had an absolute blast! In August, I want to try to do more fun stuff like this because it’s not that expensive and it just brings me such joy. Next, I want to try taking an art class, going rock climbing, trying a bungee workout class, or doing something that’s just generally exciting!

I began intensely planning my trip to Seattle, WA

I am so excited to go to Seattle in September. I’ve wanted to go to this city for a long time and this is my first big trip with my boyfriend. I’ve already found a cool island I want to check out and a restaurant called Biscuit Bitch … which is amazing for the name alone and it also serves my favorite food in the world (surprise!) biscuits. Does anyone have any recommendations for things to do, eat, or see in Seattle?

And, I also got into a few games

I have been a die-hard Animal Crossing fan since I played it on GameCube with my brother over a decade ago. And when Animal Crossing Pocket Camp came out for mobile over a year ago, I got really into it but then sort of quit. But I recently started it up again and OMG they’ve added so many amazing features and I am absolutely 100% obsessed. I really like playing it for a few minutes in the morning instead of checking Twitter and Instagram. It definitely sparks more joy.

If you have it, feel free to add me! My ID is: 3783-9644-361. My little character has a tiara and a denim jacket, love to see it.

Also, my friend has Sims 4 and when we hang out sometimes we play together and it’s SO entertaining. So far, we made a Dorothy Parker Sim and a Paris Hilton Sim. Iconic. Sometimes it’s nice to play some creativity-boosting games like this, even if they aren’t exactly purposeful.

Have you done anything exciting this month?
