1 Year Blogiversary: Lessons Learned After Running A Blog For A Year

One Year Blogaversary: What I've Learned After 1 Year Blogging / Blogging Lessons Learned

It’s eyeliner wings & pretty things’ one year blogiversary! I can’t believe that just one year ago I started my own blog and it’s grown to what it is today. eyeliner wings & pretty things has officially turned one and I feel like a proud mom. Above is me eating some chocolate chip cookies full of food coloring in a celebratory fashion.

Like, excuse my language but holy shit, this has taught me that a year flies by. There are so many posts that I forget even writing and so many things I forget even accomplishing. I bought a domain, became self-hosted, join blogger networks, did sponsored campaigns, got some freebies, wrote over 100 posts and generally just build a brand. Also, I got business cards which is the coolest most adult-y thing I have ever done.

I thought I’d share some of my blogging lessons learned after blogging for one year, because what better way to celebrate than a bit of self-reflection?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: #GlamuletPinkOctober

October has an addition to its orange and black color scheme this month and it’s pink. I think the majority of us have been affected by cancer whether it was losing someone to it or having to see someone fight through it. It’s touched so man people’s lives and we are still trying to find a cure. In case you missed it, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Namely, this October is time to raise as much awareness as possible.Breast Cancer is the 2nd deadliest cause of death for women around the world. By 2050, no woman should die of breast cancer.  This isn’t something that can be done alone or overnight. While it might seem like a huge cause, every little bit counts. One way to do that is by wearing jewelry that represents the cause and helps fund research. Yeah, buying a charm bracelet won’t cure cancer, but every little bit counts for something.

Glamulet’s combined gorgeous jewelry with raising awareness in their Pink October Campaign. I definitely recommend checking out what they have to offer on their site, they have some seriously gorgeous limited edition charms. They’re mix and match and for every charm purchased, 50% of sales go towards a charity fund for breast cancer. Shopping, pretty jewelry and helping an important cause? Perfect.

Here are some of  my favorite picks of Glamulet’s mix and match charms:

#GlamuletPinkOctober

Heart Lock & Key // Pink Ribbon // Ying-Yang

Wouldn’t those make a beautiful bracelet? The best part of these charms is that they are entirely mix and match. You can use different charms that match your outfit or represent different aspects of your life.

Gorgeous jewelry and fund raising to an excellent cause, what could be better than that? Join #GlamuletPinkOctober and let’s make some change!

Green Tea Taste Test: Which Green Tea is Best?

Green Tea Taste Test: Which Green Tea is Best? // eyeliner wings & pretty things

The title rhymes, hehe. So recently I’ve fallen in love with iced green tea. It all started at the HGTV Blogger Block Party where free iced tea was being offered–the only choices were sweet tea, unsweetened tea and green tea and , noting my hatred of sweet and unsweetened ice tea, I opted for green tea.

I was not even expecting to like it, but I fell in love. And the next day I proceeded to buy four kinds of green tea ~for science~ so I could see which was the best. Of course, it’s what I personally think the best green tea is, but hopefully my in-depth review and ~interesting~ descriptions give you some tea insight. So, I pose the question: WHICH GREEN TEA IS THE BEST GREEN TEA?!
