Sometimes you’re just having a crappy day. There’s no exact way to solve a bad day or simply make everything sunshine and rainbows, but there are a few ways to make a bad day a little less bad. Honestly, you have nothing to lose with these tips. The worst that’ll happen from trying these bad day fixes is that you smell nice and get well-rested.

You can’t always make a bad day better, but you can definitely avoid making it worse. It’s kind of like if you’re trapped in the middle of an ocean with no one around and no land as far as your eyes can see. You can’t really rescue yourself but you can stay afloat and not sink further into the water. I suck at metaphors but you get what I mean, right? 8 Productive Things To Do This Summer // eyeliner wings & pretty things

Some summers are void of internships or jobs and there’s nothing wrong with that. Despite not having a place you have to go to on a daily basis, you can still be a productive member of society. Nothing is worse than falling into that summer void where you spend days in pajamas being so bored that you end up watching YouTube tutorials for how to make cakes shaped like hamburgers and spaghetti…or is that just me?

Hoarder’s Guide to Getting Rid of Junk

Hoarder's Guide to Getting Rid of Junk // eyeliner wings & pretty things
I’m sort of a pack rat. I keep random trophies from vacations, playbills from concerts in fifth grade, novels I used to love, One Direction merchandise that I’m not sure what the hell to do with, old makeup…I keep a lot of things and I get into occasional moods of “LET’S CLEAN EVERYTHING AND THROW AWAY ALL OF THE CLUTTER!”

In these moods I find myself able to throw away things that were supposedly sentimental and I have this satisfied feeling whenever I throw something away. After I had to pack and unpack upon moving back from college, it really hit me how much of a pack rat I am and how hard it is getting rid of junk. Like, I have 20+ dresses, clothes from MIDDLE SCHOOL, hundreds of bottles of nail polish…too much stuff.

Look, I know minimalism is the new trend but I will never be a minimalist. I can’t.  I’ve sort of tried, but I just have too much stuff and I’m an overbuyer with anxiety about using things up or running out of them. I’ve decided getting rid of junk is the best I can do, so, my packrat friends, here’s the guide to getting rid of junk.

12 Ways To Be Less Of An Asshole

How to be Less Of An Asshole // 12 ways to be loss of an asshole - ew & pt

Title got your attention, didn’t it? I debated on sweetening the title or maybe censoring it a little bit but there are so many things to be offended by on the Internet if someone is deeply offended by my using the word “asshole” in a post on my tiny little sector of the web, um, I guess they wouldn’t click on this in the first place, would they? If they did, maybe they’re a bit of a masochist.

There’s not really a better way to phrase it because frankly I don’t take the word “jerk” or “meanie” seriously and the word “bitch” is far too gendered (that’s a whole other story). Frankly there’s no word that has quite the widespread connotation as “asshole.” It’s universal. I’m already being a bit of an asshole in my introduction alone, whoops. I’m losing my credibility as a reliable narrator but I promise I’ll win it back in the next paragraph.

Perhaps you don’t consider yourself to be an asshole and maybe you aren’t one, but there are definitely habits you (and me, definitely me) can take on or end to be less of an asshole in general. Basically here are some ways to make the world a little bit of a better place, here’s how to be less of an asshole. I’m not preaching, I swear, I’m guilty of many of these things.
